About the Ohio Bruins

 

When it became clear that for various reasons, the Ohio Bruins would not have teams, it also became clear that the officers were still interested in providing for the growth of young athletes and coaches in Ohio.

 

This has provided terrific energy for us and we are happy to see the purpose of the Ohio Bruins grow to include teams as well as mentoring athletes and coaches and services to other teams and organizations who are fulfilling the values of the Ohio Bruins.

 

Thus, we have continued to coach young athletes and used baseball to help them grow and develop.  We have mentored new, young coaches in the methods of the Ohio Bruins. 

 

We have helped organizations and teams understand how to manage, prepare and take care of fields.

 

We are looking forward to this new focus on growth of the Ohio Bruins by expanding the reach of the organization.

 

We are especially proud of the fact that the Ohio Bruins is supporting organizations who are focused on physical, mental and spiritual growth of youth athletes.  We are excited about having the ability to assist organizations and young athletes to reach their goal of attending college and playing baseball in College.

The purposes of the Ohio Bruins are including but not limited to: 

 

• Foster and promote the safety, welfare, growth , sportsmanship, fair play, and

 good citizenship of its participants;

• Provide a uniform code of ethics, management, and playing rules for the members;

• To teach solid fundamentals of the game of baseball, to provide quality creditable instruction to the players of the organization. The game should also be viewed as a means to develop good moral character, hard work, fair play, teamwork, and perseverance;

•  Administer to the common requirements of the members;

•  Provide meaningful, memorable, and rewarding experiences for the children who participate under the auspices of the Bruins;

• Provide mentoring and training of coaches;

• Provide coaching of youth athletes directly, or supporting others coaching youth athletes;

• Assisting those in need with player fees, either partial or full;

• Provide support through services, education, equipment, field preparation training, mentoring or financial assistance to organizations which meet the purposes of the Ohio Bruins and who are dedicated to assisting the youth of all over Ohio;

• Interact with and partnering with other like-minded organizations to accomplish our purposes as stated for young athletes around Ohio.
